Our Projects
Examples
TCFM sparks meaningful change for our clients, often engaging around areas of education, policy, and technology because these are the most powerful engines of change in the world.
Below are some examples to help you to understand the range of our work, the depth of our commitment to our clients’ success, and the value our clients find in working with us.
Providing Evolving Leadership Support for an International Nonprofit
TCFM was retained by an international non-governmental organization to provide executive leadership service. After getting a sense of the organization’s needs, Bob agreed to step in as the continuing CEO and served in that role for several years. When it became time to transition to new leadership, TFCM was again retained to provide program leadership and fundraising support for a new initiative that holds promise for significant scale and impact.
Supporting a Family through Complicated Changes
TFCM has worked with one family for several years as their child transitions to young adulthood. TFCM originally met the family when their child was in late elementary school at a school where Bob was Head. Years later, when the parents decided to divorce and recognized they needed help to agree on significant issues for their child, they reached out for assistance with settling disputes, interacting with legal teams, identifying supports, and collaborating with service providers. TFCM was glad to be able to support the family again as their needs continue to evolve.
Helping A Family Foundation Launch A New Organization
TFCM was retained by a family who had just started a foundation with a focus on learning differences. TFCM helped the family and staff to select grantees, supported those grantees, and worked to incubate a project with enormous potential within the foundation. When that project spun out of the foundation, TFCM went with the project and became part of the founding team. TFCM has now continued as consultants at the organization for a decade, offering varying degrees of support for multiple projects and providing ongoing subject matter expertise.
Assisting a Nonprofit That Is Meaningful to A Family Client
TFCM has worked with a nonprofit organization to boost their enrollment and increase their funding. TFCM was introduced to the nonprofit by a family they have helped with school and summer placements for their neurodiverse children while the family faced the challenges of divorce and custody issues. The nonprofit has provided a much needed positive experience for one of the teens, and her mother recognized that TFCM could help the organization grow. It has been wonderful to combine TFCM's work with the family and the organization they have come to value.
Transforming a High School’s Service Model
TFCM was retained by an independent school pursuing state approval for funding and services. Following the engagement, Catherine agreed to step in as Chief Administrator and Education Director to help secure approval, establish working relationships with dozens of public school districts, and build the school’s programs. When it came time to transition to new leadership, TFCM was again retained to help with the transition.
Advocating for Children with Governments and Industry
TFCM has advocated for policy and legislative change, often through foundations and nonprofits, in the disabilities, education, and child safety spaces. TFCM has engaged with advocacy organizations, major online content platforms, social media companies, and technology companies to help raise awareness of issues and drive additions and revisions to the policy and legal landscape. TFCM has advocated for change at both the federal and state levels in the US and with national and regional governments outside of the US on behalf of clients and their partners. TFCM also works well in conjunction with lobbyists, law firms, government affairs consultants, and other advocacy oriented professionals.
Supporting an Independent High School in Transition
TFCM was retained by an independent school to help in a turnaround situation, where TFCM assisted the board and school leaders to build enrollment and improve fundraising. When the school was faced with an unexpected crisis, Bob stepped in to serve as Head of School for several years until the school was stable and could move on with a new Head. Recently Bob has returned to the school again, this time as a Board member.
